Short description

Forty-eight months at a desk. You rule a small state under a Supreme Leader, one document at a time, against the light moving across the room - and somewhere in the paperwork is the truth about the people your predecessor erased, and about you.

About the game

The Leader is dead. You were the safe choice.

Every morning the pile is waiting: ministries, petitions, ledgers, the state newspaper's draft with its marker in the tray. Every document costs daylight to open and more to read closely, and the small print is where things hide. Approve, deny, strike a word, let it decide itself at sunset - every stamp costs someone, and nothing says where a consequence came from when it arrives months later.

The red telephone rings when the Supreme Leader wants something. The square below the window answers what you sign, the same day. Your advisors want things from you; so does the old woman who brings your tea. And the files in the archive were never meant to be opened.

Features

  • A desk game of decisions with no right answer, drawn in pixel art and played one month at a time across four years - over seven hundred routine papers besides the story, each of them once a game, so no two reigns read alike
  • Thirty-nine endings, from the coup at four in the morning to the long table in the archive - each followed by a roll-call of everyone who trusted you
  • A newspaper to censor with a black marker, forgeries to catch by their signatures, agents to send south, a drawer of keepsakes, a waste-paper basket for what should not be found, a corkboard behind the map for the threads you pull yourself
  • Fifty-six orders and medals of the State to earn, and things for the desk that some of them bring
  • A poster every morning from the Ministry of Information - forty-eight of them to collect - music made in code, and an office whose window shows what your signature did
  • The record of months: go back to any month and try again, without losing the line you lived; three reigns side by side; and after an ending, a successor who inherits what you left
  • Today's seed for everyone at once, with a board of how long they lasted; a streamer mode where chat's votes are pencilled in the margin
  • In English, Romanian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese

Made with AI, said plainly

The character portraits and much of the game's pixel art (poster pictures, photographs, keepsakes, the evening room, and the buildings, crowds and objects in the cutscenes) were generated with PixelLab, an AI pixel-art tool, then selected and edited by the developer. The code, and the Romanian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese translations, were written with the help of an AI assistant. The game generates nothing with AI while it is played.
